At church, we will begin the year by returning to our The Red Letters series with one of my favorite stories of Jesus. Jesus had just been transfigured on the mountain top, but in the valley below, there was trouble. Nine of His disciples were dealing with a situation that was over their heads. A father had brought his demon possessed son to them for help, but they couldn’t do anything about it. Finally Jesus returned to the mountaintop, and the man looks at Jesus and says “but if you can, please help us.” Those three words, “If you can” set the stage for a lesson I feel like I have to relearn every time I feel overwhelmed. This is the graphic I created as the title slide for the presentation.
