Looking for Beta Testers

Posted: October 30, 2020 in Uncategorized

I’ve decided to start publishing art ministry resources, and I am looking for people to check out what I am creating and maybe even try them out and let me know how they work. These would be teaching resources as well as some personal devotional ideas. If you’d like to be added to the list to receive these resources, please fill out the form below.

What can I say? David Jeremiah is a great writer, a great preacher and one of the great thinkers of the church. I got this book to see whether or not it would work as a resource for my next group Bible study at church and ended up reading it in about four or five days. Jeremiah speaks to the idea of keeping on moving forward in all phases of life. With Biblical stories as well as stories of modern people all over the world, Jeremiah makes a compelling argument that we should always keep moving forward. This was a great read. Check it out.

Last year at our church yard sale, I saw a book that interested me. Shoeless Joe by W.P. Kinsella. I knew what it was almost instantly. It’s the book on which one of my al time favorite movies is based. Field of Dreams. I plopped down my dollar and put it on my shelf. This week I finally got the chance to read it. To be honest, I”m not a huge baseball fan but that movie has always touched my heart. It’s pure genius and so is the book. As usual the book has more content than the movie including characters and a few story lines that never made it to the screen play. James Earl Jones’ character in the movie was Catcher In the Rye author J.D. Salinger in the book, and while I enjoyed Salinger as Kinsella portrays him, I kept thinking about how much more I liked James Earl Jones. To be honest the added characters add something to the story, and I enjoyed them, but the screenwriter gave us a much better ending. That being said I loved this book and if you are looking for a pleasant and optimistic read, pick this one up. P.S. If you are a fan of Field of Dreams, this is a must read,

Let’s start at the beginning. If anyone from my church reads this review, no I am not thinking of quitting. I received a copy of this book from the publisher as a review copy, and I am really glad I did. This book is wall to wall encouragement and is great for anyone who has ever found themselves in a “dip” a tough spot that make you want to give up. Combining personal examples with many stories from the Bible, (including many of my favorites) Nepstad makes a compelling argument for keeping on keeping on. While I am not thinking of quitting my ministry, I have to admit to having received this book right after something pretty discouraging happened in my life and I have to admit the encouragement in this book, made me realize I could not just survive but thrive. I will not quit in the dip. You shouldn’t either. If you find yourself in need of encouragement, read this book.
