What 2017 Will Be…

I feel kind of badly these days. If I were to believe social media (the source of most fake news), 2016 was the worst year ever. One person after another lamenting how bad 2016 was. They have a variety of reasons for thinking this. The loss of so many celebrities, the election and its results and on and on and on. Why do I feel badly? Because I had a great year. Many great things happened for me. Am I abnormal?

The thing is, there are things that are out of your control, and when they happen they can really stink and if you have been hit with something very hard, this post may not be for you. I am not trying to make your year worse. In the midst of those times, the best thing I can recommend is hold on to the Lord and keep moving forward and that sort of brings us my point. We can either get stuck lamenting those things we can do nothing about or we can make the choice to give our best to what we do control, keeping a positive attitude and putting our creative best toward solving our problems and making the world a better place. I believe that’s what makes the difference between a good year and a bad one.

The passing of so many famous people was indeed tragic, and mourning is acceptable. but let us remember that many other people were lost as well. The best thing we can do is honor their memory and keep on living, moving the Kingdom forward. The election was what it was, a no-win situation between two people, that for some reason the general public picked and we had a winner. You may like the result, you may not, but at the end of the day, you can do very little about what happens in the White House and very much about what happens in your house and what you need to know is that’s where it all begins. Make the most of your life, bring your best to life and don’t stop.

At the end of the day, some things will be out of your control this year, for the rest of it 2017 will be what you make it.

Do your best to make it great!
