Okay I got a blessing recently. I won an autographed copy of Andy Andrews new book The Noticer Returns… from Michael Hyatt’s blog. Andy Andrews is one of my favorite authors and while I am only a few pages in, far too soon to review, I founds something wonderful that needed to be shared.
Andy is sharing a moment from his past. Today he is one of the top motivational speakers in the country but back in the day, he was homeless, living under a pier. It was there that he met the mysterious Jones, the guy who changed his life. Here is a quote we all need to remember.
“Don’t sweat the small stuff,” Jones said with disdain.”That’s a lie that will ruin your life.” He looked hard at me again and locked my gaze with his own. “Your choices, your word and every move you make are permanent. Life is lived in indelible ink, boy. You’re making little bitty brushstrokes every minute you walk around on this earth. And with those tiny brushstrokes, you are creating the painting that your life will ultimately become–a masterpiece or a disaster.”
What a great truth. Our choices paint the picture of our lives. What are you painting?
