It’s funny that Kernel came to be the challenge this week because I already have a video based on this one. There’s a verse in the Bible that says “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” (John 12:24) Jesus is telling His disciples how He is about to lay down His life for our sins. He relates his life to a seed being planted in the ground to produce a harvest of seeds. He gave his life for literally billions of people.
In the painting, I start with a single kernel and two stalks of wheat, which I convert into the face of Jesus on the cross. This is the first painting I do in my presentation A Night AMOK: Pix of JC, the purpose of which is to tell people about Jesus and help people to “paint a better picture of Jesus” with their lives.
