Here the artists set up a large white sheet or thin muslin and painted behind it, the paint bleeding through the material looking as if the image is painting itself.

The master and the father of performance painting, Denny Dent. This vid is amazing!
One of his quotes really resonates with me, “I’m not here just for the money ’cause that gets spent later or the applause that dies down. I’m here for the gratification of knowing I might be able to sow some seeds and water ‘em. Be what you are, be creative. Wake up and let it out. You don’t have to be a painter to be an artist. What comes from the heart lands on the heart.”
Prayer Request and another Request

Hi everyone,
Well, it’s here. This is the week I take A Night AMOK, Pix of JC before a live audience in its entirety for the first time. I’ve done all the elements in ministry before but now’s the time to see how they work as a cohesive unit. I’m really excited, but I could also use your prayers. Please pray that people show up ready to receive Jesus. Pray that the Spirit will prompt anyone who is on the fence about coming and that God will be glorified. For those who don’t know A Night AMOK: Pix of JC is an evangelistic program that uses art, video, storytelling and more to paint a picture of the real Jesus. During the program, I will be painting six different works of art live, all of which share part of the story of Jesus ending with an invitation to receive Jesus. I’ve been preparing for this program for years and I really can’t wait. Please pray for me, this whole event and especially those who will be coming. If you’re in the vicinity of eastern PA, I’d love to have you come and check it out this saturday at 7:00p.m.
The promo video can be seen below, but first my request. I really want to take this presentation beyond the walls of my church. It’s suitable for churches, camps, conferences, youth events, evangelistic meetings and more. First, could you pray that I get opportunities to do just that. Secondly if you could envision this being a blessing for your church or event, would you consider bringing me in to do the program and lastly if you know anyone who may be able to help me get this out there, agents, event producers/promoters, etc. would you please have them contact me at amokarts@aol.com.
Thank you,
Dave Weiss

Announcing A Night A.M.O.K.: Pix of JC

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you all about the program I am working on here. It’s called A Night A.M.O.K.: Pix of JC. It’s an hour and a half to two hour evangelistic program I am making available to churches after March 10. March 10 is the roll out “performance” that I will be doing at my home church.
So what is A Night A.M.O.K.? It’s an evening of art, music and ministry. In Pix of JC, I will be painting a variety of images live accompanied by music and videos and interspersing the program with short messages, stories and more, designed to tell the story of Jesus; from what it means to be Lord and Savior, to what He did on the cross, to why all this is important to you. It’s part message, part testimony with a little drama and lots of paint and it ends with an invitation. I’ve done most of the components of the program live in various venues before but this is the first time I am bringing them all together into a cohesive story. It’s designed to bring people to the cross (I even bring my own cross) and to a decision for Christ.
I would love to do this program for your church. Due to the amount of things that I have to carry to do this program. I will need to drive it to your venue, but if you are outside a three hour radius from Reading, PA. All hope is not lost, I may be able to work you into a tour.
If you’re interested, contact me, Dave Weiss, for details.
The web page for the event is coming soon.
Be the Body: Whatever Gifts
Posted: June 1, 2011 in UncategorizedTags: "Dave Weiss", "DC Weiss", amok, amokarts, art, arts, Bible, church ministry resource, creative, God, Jesus, ministry, painting, performance painting, Spiritual gifts
This is a painting I did in my church worship service this past Sunday. It’s pretty simple. I preached on Spiritual gifts as part of my Be the Body series. As you see it come together you’ll notice it’s a painting of Jesus with a gift in his hands. The question is, is he giving the gift or receiving the gift? The answer is both. Sorry to sound so noncommittal but basically what happens is God gives us the gifts and our purpose is to use them and give them back to Him by living out His purposes in the world.
Romans 12:1 and 2 says it this way:
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
God has given us many gifts. He didn’t give them all to any of us because He wants us to pool our resources, live in community and be more together than we can be apart. He wants us to Be the Body of Christ. There is one gift He has given to each and every believer though. The gift of salvation through the sacrifice of His son, Jesus. With Him comes another amazing gift, The Holy Spirit, who lives in us and among other things gives us all these wonderful Spiritual gifts. The gift of Jesus is a gift we could never repay. The best we can do is offer God our whole lives. That’s what it means to be a living sacrifice. When we take everything we have and we lay it all on the altar, that’s real spiritual worship and the act of offering ourselves to the Lord makes a change in us. We want His ways over the world’s ways and His plans over our own. Realizing the sacrifice Christ made for us will change the way we think and the more our way of thinking lines up with His the more we can discern His will.
God is good and He gives good gifts. What are you giving to him?
