The first thing that popped into my head with this one was the old adage, “The Road to Hell is Paved With Good Intention(s)” and while I would never take it that far I will say this: Intentions don’t matter. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Doing the wrong thing might be convenient but it will never be right.
Forget about your intentions, do the right thing.
