In the first chapter Michael Hyatt’s Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World, Hyatt starts off by telling us about creating a compelling product. He relates an experience of watching Steve Jobs introduce the iPhone. One thing was clear, Jobs loved this product. Reading Michael Hyatt’s description made me think about my own “product,” which is essentially the speaking/art/information ministry known as AMOKArts. Do I love it? Why do I love it? Am I passionate about it and why?
It’s really important that I can express this, because if I can’t share my love and passion for what it is that I’m doing, how can I expect you to get excited about it. So let me introduce you to AMOKArts.com
I love this ministry and feel it’s what I was created to do. When I am doing A Night AMOK, or writing one of these posts or making a video or any of the other really cool creative things I get to do as part of this ministry, I feel so much joy and excitement. I am a privileged person who gets to live out his dream. I get to make art and tell stories and share the most important messages in the History of Humanity, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the fact that each of us was created by God on purpose, for a purpose. I feel blessed every single time I get to do this. To my mind, there is no better calling. That’s why I love it, but why should you get excited about it? Why should you care? What does all this joy have to do with you dear reader?
Let me tell you. I came into this ministry after a long dark struggle, trying to find where I fit in the world. I made a lot of mistakes and went down a lot of wrong roads before someone very special to me introduced me to Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Savior. I have no doubt that introduction saved my life. There was only one problem, Christ saved my life and my soul, but I didn’t know my purpose and I was floundering. My life was radically changed when a pastor called out my unusual gift of art and showed me how I could use it to serve the Lord. That one event set forth a chain reaction that led me to where I am today. I went from suicidal drunk to church pastor, from someone beaten down and terrified to speak in public to someone who can’t wait for the chance to share this message I’ve been given, boldly and with authority. My passion in life is to do what was done for me for as many people as possible. To introduce them to Jesus and to help those who know Him to find and use their gifts to serve God and others. To find and live out their God-given purpose.
Why should you read my blogs and my books and watch my videos? Why should you bring me in to speak and paint at your church or organization? Because it is my passion every time I walk into a room to introduce everyone there to the One who loved me enough to die to set me free and it is my passion to help every person who comes in contact with any of my media or speaking to use all that I’ve been given to help every person to find and become that special, amazing person God made them to be.
Do I have a compelling product? Yes. Hopefully you can feel my excitement in these words, but if you can’t , contact me. I will convince you. The best thing in the world is finding Jesus. The second best thing in the world is finding and living our His purpose. That’s my message.
