The first thing I thought of when I saw the word swamp was swamped, perhaps that is because of my level of busyness lately. Here’s my response.
IllustrationFriday.com Challenge: Swamp
If you’re in a place where you feel swamped, maybe it’s time to pull back a little. Remember what Jesus said to the weary and burdened?

He said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

He doesn’t want us running around overburdened and miserable. He wants us to live lives filled with joy and peace. He knows we all have our limits. It’s part of the reason the Lord instituted a Sabbath. Hey, God even rested at the end of creation. If he took a break what makes you think you don’t need one.

The world will keep turning if you take a break.

Take one… It’s good for the soul…

  1. Well, I found a backdoor in, it seems wordpress finally did get me into their system and I do have a login ability now(like I wrote before I tried many times in the past to get in by registering but I never go in, hope so this time, sorry for the headache of dealing with this on your side). I hope this goes thru. Have enjoyed your last # of posting! Joy in Jesus from Okinawa

You have inspired me to want to do IF as well. Although I’ve meant to for a number of weeks, I’ve been “swamped”! :-) So here was my first one, submitted 10 minutes to midnight on Thursday night! Ha! I think it kind of ties it with your little challenge of telling a story about ourselves of where we are now and where we would like to be…I would like to remember to really notice God’s smaller provisions in everyday life so when the bigger things come along, I can more easily remember how he takes care of even the smallest cares. http://mrs-reads-art-challenges.blogspot.com/2012/03/blessings-from-swamp.html
