My friend Marcus Harden was the speaker at our district jr. high youth retreat here in PA. But at dinner we got into the topic of art ministry. He asked me if I intended to paint at the retreat and I replied that I hadn’t really considered it. He asked me if I would, so I did. I was trying to think of what to paint and came up with a very literal interpretation of the Scripture. I felt led to do a triptych covering the three main concepts of the passage: Connection to the vine, The Master Gardener pruning us and bearing much fruit.
