One of the first performance painters I’ve seen, nails it again!
It’s a reminder that His blood is on our hands, but by His wounds we are healed.

I know we’re past thanksgiving but since every day should be thanksgiving, I wanted to pass this video along as a reminder for all the things we have for which to be grateful and to say thank you to all of you for being a part of this ministry.
Okay so what would you do with these guys?

I own the Domain New Creaturez.com and I am considering what to do with it. The site has sort of gone up and down and I’d like to make it a worthwhile site for spreading the Gospel. The name comes from the King James Version of 2 Corinthians 5:17. I was considering a creature art/cartoon gallery of some kind, simple and to the point… But I am open to suggestions.

It’s the last message in my Dear Galatia Series, it deals with how to use our freedom in Christ and how to function as the Church and the Body of Christ. Check it out…
IllustrationFriday.com Challenge: Round
Posted: November 27, 2011 in UncategorizedTags: amok, amokarts, arts, challenge, creative, Illustration, illustrationfriday.com, ministry, round, that the Lord has made, this is the day
This week’s Illustration Friday.com Challenge was the word “Round.” This of course led me to thinking of a lot of circular things, but I thought that might be too predictable, Then I thought of the song Round and Round by the 80′s Hair Band Ratt and you still might see something about that, but my third thought was the type of song called a round. So I decided to create a round image of people singing a round.
Can’t see the image? Click here!
A round in musical terms is “a part song in which the voices follow each other at equal intervals at the same pitch.” The most famous round is probably Row, Row, Row Your Boat but in the church we sing This is the day, This is the day, that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made, We will rejoice, We will rejoice, and be glad in it, and be glad in it, This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it, This is the day that the Lord has made.
The song comes from Psalm 118 and it is a reminder that each day is a gift from God. Rejoice and be glad to have it. Make the most of it, give it to God and let Him help you make it count. God wants us to have His joy each day in spite of our circumstances.
This is your day, a gift from God, enjoy it in Him and spread the joy a’ ROUND
A Black Friday Reminder…
Posted: November 25, 2011 in UncategorizedTags: amok, amokarts, arts, black friday, creative, gift, grace, Love, ministry
I made this video last year but I think it bears repeating…
I go out every year to shop on Black Friday. I love being out among the throngs of people, but it’s clear every time that some people are missing the point. Nearly every year I hear on the news of someone being trampled to death for the opportunity to save a few bucks on a gift. Please don’t get it wrong. The gifts are to remind us of THE gift, so don’t stress yourself out or spend yourself into oblivion or make yourself miserable. Instead remember who you are, a child of God, remember why you are a child of God, (because of Jesus) and what we celebrate (God giving Jesus to us!) This celebration is all about the ultimate blessing. We who are Christians have already received the greatest gift. Conduct yourselves accordingly and be a bringer of joy!
A Word of Thanks an a Creative Challenge: Gratitude is an Attitude
Posted: November 24, 2011 in UncategorizedTags: amok, amokarts, challenge, creative, gratitude, thanks, Thanksgiving
I want to start off this message by saying thank you to all the members of the tribe. Your support over the past year has been overwhelming. Thanks especially to God the Father and Our Lord Jesus Christ for bringing us together and calling us to this common purpose of using our gifts to serve Him.
Now on to the challenge…
A lot of people have a hard time finding a reason to be grateful. Circumstances blind them to all they have or they get so focused on what they don’t have and after a while it seems like life is going against them. I’m guessing you can be the same way, I know I can, but here’s the thing, if you are reading this you are blessed with everything from the air you breathe on down. We need to stop fixating on stuff an on what seems to be fair. We need to take a step back and realize all that God has done for us. Gratitude is an attitude and it is a choice, we can and must choose to be grateful if we want to live a life that is pleasing to God, not to mention joyful.
We DO have reason to be grateful, the Creator of the Universe loves you and knows you by name. He loves you so much that He gave His only Son for you and the Lord Jesus loves you so much that he actually went willingly to the cross to do the will of the Father—for YOU! Today create something that reminds you or others to be grateful.
Remember Psalm 136 says, “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.” Now that’s a reason to be thankful.

With: Reimagining the Way You Relate to God
by Skye Jethani
I just finished reading Skye Jethani’s latest book entitled With: Reimagining the Way You Relate to God. I am trying not resort to hyperbole, but this book was really life changing. In the book Jethani examines five ways most people relate to God. There is life under God, over God, from God and for God. With the possible exception of over God, all of these sound great and they are to some degree, however they can each represent a very unhealthy relationship. And all of them are to one degree or another about fear and control.
People living life under God live in Live to appease God through “strict obedience to moral and ritual commands.” This sounds good except at its core is an attempt to control God and our conditions through our obedience.
People living life over God see themselves as managers, and “autonomous beings who have been given a divine manual for operating my life and world and whose fate will ultimately rest upon how well I implement God’s principles and instructions.” Again this is an effort to control. We don’t have to pray, we don’t have to depend on God we can just do the right thing and ensure that God will always make things go well.
People living from God fall into consumer Christianity, seeing God as a celestial Santa Claus who we use to get what we want. This is the shortest way to center of the universe syndrome where everything including God revolves around me.
People who live life for God see themselves as servants, “workers created to fulfill a great mission. Their “sense of value is inexorable linked to what (they are) able to accomplish and the magnitude of (their) impact on the world.”
My confession is I have been all of those people at one point or another and have lately been life for God and it has been miserable at times because it generates a picture of God not as loving Father but as Father who can never be pleased. This is a false picture and not what God wants. God wants us in the fifth way, Life With God. As I saw this I became convicted and have repented of some rather messed up attitudes. I don’t just want to be with God some day in heaven. I want to be With Him in my every day life right now. How about you?
With is a must read.
